Elena Ilinykh is a retired Russian ice dancer who competed internationally for Russia alongside her former partner, Nikita Katsalapov. She was born on April 25, 1994, in Aktau, Kazakhstan, and began skating at a young age.
Ilinykh and Katsalapov had a successful partnership, winning the gold medal at the 2013 European Championships and the bronze medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. They also won several medals at the World Championships, including a silver in 2012 and a bronze in 2013.
After the 2014 Olympics, Ilinykh and Katsalapov decided to end their partnership, and Ilinykh took a break from competitive skating. She later returned to the ice as a solo skater and performed in various ice shows and competitions.
In addition to her success on the ice, Ilinykh is known for her graceful and expressive skating style. She has a strong following among figure skating fans for her artistry and emotional performances.
